WHY I MEDIATE
My passion for mediation began early in my legal career under the mentorship of Sid Wolinsky, a renowned litigator who instilled in me the belief that negotiation is at the heart of everything we do. He emphasized that every interaction—whether a discovery call, a settlement conference, or a high-stakes negotiation—was an opportunity to build consensus. He even gave me You Can Negotiate Anything by Herb Cohen, a book that resonated so deeply that it fueled my love of negotiation and ultimately led me to mediation.
Throughout my over 25-year career handling complex class actions, employment law disputes, business conflicts, and civil litigation, I have found the greatest fulfillment not in courtroom victories, but in the moments when opposing sides find a way forward together. I’ve always been drawn to bridging gaps—whether in legal disputes, professional collaborations, or personal interactions. I thrive on the challenge of guiding people with divergent viewpoints toward a shared understanding and a workable resolution.
For me, mediation isn’t just about resolving disputes—it’s about shifting perspectives, breaking impasses, and creating space for meaningful agreements. The process of guiding people through complexity, staying patient, and uncovering solutions is deeply rewarding and drives my passion for this work.
